On Wednesday, we bagged the meters and put up cones to begin building the Roff Parklet. With the El Nino in full effect, our construction date was saturated with rain. However, that did not stop our crew from making a dream into reality! With TEDxReno the next day, the parklet had to be in place for reference in Nellie Davis’ talk on building community value.
We laid out the floor platform in a matter of two hours, cutting most boards on site to fit the slope of the road. Trucking-in the seating and planters from an off-site warehome, we were able to bolt them into place and call it a day after 5 hours in the down pour.
